Streetcars… to light rails … check it… I’m proud to walk in my old shoes. Drive around man, that’s old news… Light rail transport, ready to explore, yet it’s not ready to Two-Zero-One-Four!

Twin Cities rapper King Fuvi created a musical dedicated to the Central Corridor Light Rail line, or Green Line, a year ago and the Scoop regrets not making it to the grand premiere of “Streetcars to Lightrails: The Pursuit and Travels within the Central Corridor.” It debuted at Arnellia’s Bar on University Avenue last May.

No worries. The title rap, “Streetcars to Lightrails,” has been viewed 843 times on YouTube.com as of this writing, and it features many shots of the King in front of the old Midway Chevrolet site and other familiar Green Line haunts.

“This is the beginning … when traveling never fails … how we transcend … from streetcars to light rails…”

King Fuvi’s creativity was funded through a small grant from Irrigate, a Central Corridor-related arts project of Springboard for the Arts.

Take a gander here at King Fuvi’s light rail rap. This is fun stuff.

Nevertheless, the Scoop will forever associate Arnellia’s with the (in)famous “Smack Fest 2012″ all-female face slapping competition. (And unlike King Fuvi’s rap, that link isn’t necessarily kosher for work… and neither is this one.)
