Hear that noise? It’s the sound of undercover cops riding into downtown St. Paul on their hogs, bandanas flapping in the wind, all dark jean jackets and leather chaps, a skull and a crossbones somewhere on their person, tattoos that say “Mom”…
Well, sometimes the Scoop does get carried away. Whether members will ride in on motorcycles or fly into MSP and take the light rail to the bus, the Scoop isn’t entirely sure, but the International Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigator’s Conference is coming to St. Paul on Sunday.
The annual training conference for law enforcement officials who prosecute or investigate motorcycle gangs will be held through Sept. 13 at the Crowne Plaza Riverfront Hotel in downtown St. Paul. Mayor Chris Coleman is scheduled to give remarks Monday morning.
The conference is sponsored by the St. Paul Police Department, Midwest Cycle Intelligence Organization and Midwest Gang Investigator’s Association. This is the 39th year of the conference, which launched the association in San Diego, Calif. in 1974. The association now has 600 members.
The conference opens with a training workshop on Sunday night and will host a banquet on Wednesday evening. So if you’re single and looking to mingle with the boys on blue hogs, why not stop on by?
