The period to file to run for office in St. Paul (July 30 - Aug. 13) is halfway over, and to date, three candidates have filed to run for mayor (Chris Coleman, Tim Holden and Sharon Anderson) and five have filed to run for the Ward 1 seat previously held by City Council Member Melvin Carter III.
