Did Steve Jobs endorse a candidate in St. Paul's Ward 1 city council race?
Why yes, apparently he did. The Apple computer founder died almost four years ago in October 2011, but that hasn't stopped the internationally-recognized icon from weighing in on the election that takes place Nov. 3.
Mohamed Said's website includes the following endorsement from Jobs:
Steve jobs, Apple Founder
“Mohamed said has what it takes”
A verifiable endorsement? Probably not. And this isn't the first sign of shenanigans in the Ward 1 council race, which got rolling in February with a heavily-attended precinct caucus that likely broke city records.
Said, Council Member Dai Thao and Samakab Hussein are vying for the DFL party nomination on Saturday.
